Hello! I’m Prafid, a Hawksbill turtle.

I was captured on March 19th, 2024, in the Bahía de Loreto National Park. My godmother, Irlanda Murillo, chose my name, which is a combination of the initials of each member of the Eco Alianza team who monitored me.

I weighed 23.9 kg at the time of my capture, and although it hasn’t been determined whether I’m male or female yet, an interesting fact about Hawksbill turtles is that our shells are highly valued for their beauty, which makes us vulnerable to hunting. After being measured and tagged for tracking, I returned to my home in the ocean. Thank you for your support in the conservation of turtles like me!
